Assistant Engineer, Environmental Control System - Thomson-East Coast Line
Job Purpose
You will lead and supervise a team of Technical Officers in performing both preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on air-conditioning & mechanical ventilation system which consist of large water-cooled chillers, water pumps, cooling towers, air handling units, fan coil units, mechanical ventilation fans, etc. including tunnel ventilation system (tunnel ventilation and tunnel booster fans).
Responsibilities

Prepare and submit monthly work schedules. Ensure all monthly maintenance work orders are scheduled and carried out as planned and are closed promptly.

Ensure that all works carried out comply strictly with the statutory Codes of Practices, approved work instruction /task list, in-house Work Safety Manual, Quality Procedures and Quality Assurance System etc.

Review all maintenance records and certify the safety critical work order completion and to feedback any fault or abnormality and to take remedial action if required.

Participate, review and update work instruction /task list to ensure that all latest requirements are met and to enhance productivity.

Ensure that all reported faults are followed up.

Coordinate and attend to interfacing works, testing, commissioning and taking over of newly installed Environmental Control System (ECS) equipment.

Work closely with the Land Transport Authority (LTA) and their contractor to close all faults and defects registered during the equipment Defect Liability Period (DLP).

Ensure that the maintenance key performance targets are met every month.

Ensure safety in the workplace through close supervision and implementation of all safety requirements.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- A Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Building Services Technology or Facilities Management. Candidate with NITEC/ Higher NITEC qualification but with more than 10 years of relevant experience will also be considered.
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant post-graduate working experience in operation and maintenance of building facilities systems (air-conditioning & mechanical ventilation system, low voltage system, fire protection system and other related M&E equipment). Candidate with relevant experience in dealing with both air-con control system and minor electrical trouble-shooting work will have an added advantage.
- Candidate with more than 6 years of relevant experience will be given a senior post.
- Candidate must be prepared to work in 3 rotating shifts.
