Assistant Engineer, Signal Communications & Control
Job Purpose
The Assistant Engineer is responsible to provide support and supervision on all project activities, site works, works planning and arrangements. Other key areas include to arrange, execute, and manage for track access, possession arrangements, so as to ensure protection and safety for works team on all project activities.
Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of a Senior/Engineer, Signal Projects are as listed below. Note that the list is not comprehensive and related duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.
- Plan, provide & coordinate access to station, equipment rooms, trackside, OCC, depots for all contractors’ activities such as surveys, installation, testing and commissioning.
- Plan, provide & coordinate safe track access/possession arrangements for Project Works team.
- Act as Possession Master (PM) / Person-In-Charge (PIC) for all project work activities.
- Plan and provide technical support for signalling project installation, testing & commissioning works or other project enabling works.
- Able to work on rotating shifts and/or permanent night shifts.
- Supervise a team of Technical Officers to carry out the above duties.
- Carry out any other duties as assigned by Managers/Engineers.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Diploma or Higher NITEC or NITEC qualification in Electrical, Electronic or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Prepared to perform duties on shifts and preferably possess Class 3 driving license, will be advantageous.
- Candidates with railway experience or related knowledge/qualifications and/or previous working experience in site works supervision would have an added advantage.

- Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills for liaison with internal and external parties.
