Assistant Engineer (CCL, Maintenance Operations Centre, Depot Operations)

Job Purpose

The Assistant Engineer, Maintenance Operation Centre (MOC) – Depot Operations (DO) is part of MOC which is responsible for controlling and monitoring of depot operations and managing of available resources to ensure safe and smooth operations within Kim Chuan Depot. Key scope of works as follow:
1) Maximize availability of Train and Depot Workshop Facilities
2) Ensure adherence to Depot Track Access Procedures
3) Comply to all safety and quality standards and policies stipulated within SMRT
4) Assist Control Operations to ensure smooth mainline and depot train operations
5) Provide support functions to CCL Maintenance Management and Train Maintenance Branch.

Responsibilities

Maximize availability of Train and Depot Workshop Facilities

  • Arrange train requirements for corrective/preventive maintenance, project works, training (Train Ops and Station Ops), train cleaning and advertisement works.
  • Manage train and pit request from all agencies to ensure optimization of resources
  • Monitor of train and track maintenance activities within the depot.
  • Receive defect report(s) from affected agencies in MOC-FSC and report defect(s) to relevant train borne maintenance agencies for rectifications.
  • Monitor of condition monitoring systems

Ensure adherence to Depot Track Access Procedures

  • Manage Track Access Booking and ensure all book in party comply with track access process.

Comply to all safety and quality standards and policies stipulated within SMRT

  • Ensure proper accounting of visitors to KCD B2 Workshop Premise
  • Report any building/facilities defects identified during duty

Assist Control Operations to ensure smooth mainline and depot train operations

  • Plan the daily train assignment, inclusive of TSRA trains, to the assigned timetable and sufficiency of trains for daily operations.
  • Monitor rectification status of all reported defects (Train).
  • Coordinate Shunting Operation within the Depot

Provide support functions to CCL Maintenance Management and Train Maintenance Branch

  • Assist in the training of new staff.
  • Communicate maintenance information flow to relevant stakeholders.
  • Track adhoc maintenance activity on train (i.e. Fleetwide inspection etc).

Runs day to day MOC-DOC operations in accordance with process and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance to Quality or Operation procedure related to MOC-DOC operation.

Qualifications & Work Experience

  • Preferably 5 year’s relevant experience in the railway environment.
  • Polytechnic diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Technology / Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Able to commit 3 rotating shifts (morning, afternoon & night)
