Digital Learning Designer (6 Months Contract)
Job Purpose
The Digital Learning Designer will be responsible for the planning, designing and development of digital and immersive learning resources for SMRT staff within an agreed upon timeline. This position will work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Curriculum Developers (CDs), Learning Solutionists (LSes), and other stakeholders in the course of their work.
Responsibilities

- Assess learning needs to effectively integrate learning technology innovations which enhance the learner experience.
- Design and develop digital and immersive learning resources that are relevant, effective and support learning effectiveness in the areas of operational, technical and service excellence competencies.
- Work closely with the stakeholders to design, develop and validate digital and immersive learning resources.
- Perform the role of learning content curator.
- Evaluate feedback from the stakeholders to identify areas of improvement and enhance effectiveness of the digital and immersive learning resources.
- Provide design and training assistance to internal staff on developing blended/online learning and instructional applications.
- Monitor and keep organization updated on new developments in materials, equipment and technologies related to the instructional process.
- Take on ad-hoc projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Diploma or Degree in any discipline with at least 2 years of relevant work experience in training, instructional design or educational technology.
- Experience in the design, development, and implementation of emerging online learning solutions, including, video creation, bite-sized learning, and preferably immersive scenarios requiring multiple branching elements.
- Preferably ACTA, ACLP, DACE or DDDLP qualified, with good knowledge of adult learning concepts and techniques, and instructional design methodology and principles.
Skills
Technical skills include:
- Good analytical, problem-solving communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong in project management, information management and creative thinking.
- Proficient with authoring tools such as Articulate 360 and able to create effective storyboards, instructional texts, narration, and video scripts.
- Familiar with media creation tools such as Camtasia, Vyond and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and able to do thorough quality checking.
Generic skills include:
- A team player who is a fast learner, has an open mind-set, collaborative, highly independent, committed, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking.
- Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills in handling diverse situations and manage individual differences.
