Intern (CCL Maint, Field Service & Control)



CCL Field Service & Control manages and is responsible for the performance of the signalling, communication and control systems in the CCL. 

Under the IWSP, you will be provided training in engg fundamentals and have the opportunity to work in depts where you will be exposed to frontline engg maintenance in the Field Service & Control department.

Your roles under the IWSP includes the following responsibilities:

  • To attend training in engg fundamentals [2-3 weeks],
  • To support an Executive Engineer and/or Engineering Maintenance Mgr in one or more of the following,
    • Assist in engg study, technical trend, failure and analysis on related engg system(s) and equipment.
    • Perform monitoring of various engg systems and their performance.
    • Assist to plan, coordinate and supervise assigned activities to optimize the utilization of resources available to ensure that activities are completed within schedule.
    • Assist in providing technical support in asset management / asset renewal /maintenance development of relevant engg system(s).
    • Assist in providing technical support in technical investigation on critical reliability related event/failure. There will be hands-on opportunities to perform asset maintenance tasks and provide technical support services.
    • Assist in providing technical support for cross-discipline study / project.
    • Assist in providing guidance in problem identification and rectification to team(s) of Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers to determine the root cause of equipment failure to facilitate effective corrective maintenance.
    • Assist in providing operational project management by ensuring that all the works carried out by contractors are in accordance to the Quality procedures, work specification and standards required, safety requirements and Railway Operation procedures.
    • During this programme, you will be required to work in the night shift for the purposes stated above.
