Manager, Strategic Communications
Job Purpose
As part of a dynamic Corporate Communications team, you will working be to protect reputation, with an organised and meticulous approach. You will provide strategic rigour to the development of communications strategies and plans to deliver messages that manage and enhance SMRT’s reputation as the leading transport operator in Singapore. Working with a team, you will also draw actionable insights by corroborating multiple data sources, as well as formulate communications plans addressing SMRT Group’s focus. You will also support and implement initiatives to elevate the SMRT brand.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Head, Strategic Communications to develop communications strategies and key narratives to enhance reputation, taking into account broader trends such as ESG and developments in public transport landscape
- Working closely with other Corporate Comms functions to ensure timely integration of communications information within the Company
- Assist in the planning and implementation of initiatives to solicit multi-stakeholder feedback and perform in-depth analysis so as to identify insights, trends and performance gaps.
- Propose action plans, e.g. appropriate improvement initiatives in response to insights and trends.
- Prepare presentations geared at diverse stakeholders
- Be part of a wider team handling crisis communications and issues management, as they arise
- As the planning division of Corporate Communications, perform Secretariat duties as required to coordinate company’s response to key issues
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Degree in communications or other related fields
- At least 6 years’ experience in communications, corporate planning or other related fields
Skills
Technical skills include:
- Proficient in Microsoft office. Knowledge of advanced visualisation / presentation programmes e.g. Power BI would be an advantage
- Competency in statistics, research techniques and feedback analysis is a plus
Generic skills include:
- Has a strong understanding of the media landscape in Singapore
- Ability to organise and conduct research work and meet timelines
- Strong communicator with the ability to tailor communication style for different target audience
- Strong writing skills and meticulousness
- Good analytical skills, resourceful, proactive and able to work independently, as well as in a team
