Master Data Officer


Job Purpose

The Master Data Officer is required to ensure that data entered to the information system such as SAP, MAXIMO are verified and accurate. He/ She is required to manage the data in accordance with the operational strategy of supply chain policy and governance. These data are required for material support to Maintenance, Material Requirement Planning (MRP), Procurement, Logistics Support and Life-Cycle Management.


The Master Data Officer is responsible for the correctness of the information submitted. He/ She is to ensure the integrity of the data managed, verify, and validate the data against the supply chain polices, work instruction and governing instructions. 

He/ She is required to validate the submission, vet the supporting documents before the creation of the master data in the information system. Where required, he/ she is to work with the requestors from the business units to clarify on the supporting documents and information submitted.


The tasks of the Master Data Officer include but not limited to:


1.    Perform Material Catalogue Tasks and to Maintain Material Master database in SAP MM
•    Tally request by stakeholders with supporting document
•    Creation of material catalogue
•    Amendment of values in material catalogue


2.    Maintain Manufacturer Part database in SAP MM
•    Tally request by stakeholders with supporting document
•    Verify Manufacturer (brand) authenticity (using Internet Search e.g. Google)
•    No duplicate Vendor Master in database
•    Liaise with stakeholders (as required) to facilitate data creation/amendment


3.    Perform Continuous Improvement Tasks
•    Propose ways to eliminate gaps and weaknesses in current operations
•    Propose innovative solutions that address customer’s needs
•    Support Knowledge Library (e.g., prepare training guides)


4.    Perform Business Administration Tasks
•    Facilitate delivery of key outcomes within team/departmental projects
•    Facilitate team/departmental projects
•    Generate reports (as required)

Qualifications & Work Experience

  • Fresh ITE/ Diploma in Supply Chain/ Logistic graduates are welcome to apply 
  • Experience in Supply Chain/ Logistic preferred
  • Knowledge of spare parts supply source
  • Knowledge of IBM Maximo system will be an advantage


Technical skills include:

  • SAP or MAXIMO will be an advantage
  • Proficient in MS Office 365 (Excel, Words, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
  • Savvy with search engines (e.g., Google)


Generic skills include:

  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Critical Thinking
  • Process good judgement, consistency, and high accuracy
  • Able to quickly adapt and learn new skills
  • Ability to follow through task/project completion with minimum supervision
