Senior Manager, Logistics Operations (TEL)

Job Purpose

 

The Senior Manager, Logistics Operations (TEL) is responsible to lead and manage the material planning and logistics operations of the company. This includes end-to-end logistics from receiving to disposal and fulfilment of services to business units, freight services, and repair management. In the area of material planning, he/ she is required to oversee the material requirement planning to ensure material availability in support of maintenance operation. He/ She will be responsible to develop and execute material planning strategies, cost optimization and strategic sourcing management, and collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to build the provisioning strategies aligned to meet the Company’s objectives.

 

As part of the continuous improvement process, he/ she is required to review logistics and provisioning policies, standards, and procedures, manages the processes of logistics solution business development, analysing, designing, and implementing end-to-end logistics solutions, in accordance to Supply Chain Management business and customers’ needs.

 

Analytical and logical, he/ she is required to manage resources and obtain buy-in from internal and external stakeholders. He/ She is also expected to lead a branch and make business decisions independently. As a leader, he/ she is required to lead and provide mentoring to the Team members, maximising their development.
Start date should not be greater than the end date.

 

Responsibilities

 

Her/his roles and responsibilities shall include but not limited to the following areas:

 

1.    Drive Warehouse Operations which includes but not limiting to planning end-to-end logistics, fulfilment services to business units within the company, Plan and review warehouse storage and layout plans, ensuring safe operations and maintenance of all warehouse Material Handling Equipment e.g., Forklift, Reach Truckers, Stacker Cranes, lifting platforms etc are fit for use and compliance to safety, health, and environmental requirement.

 

2.    Drive Distribution Operations which encompasses repair management, arranging for freight forwarding, transport, including last mile delivery, and reverse logistics execution.


3.  Drive Material Planning which requires the appointment holder to formulate, execute, and track material planning to meet material requirement for the maintenance of Trains operations. There is need to work closely with Procurement Office to establish contracts/ agreements to achieve value-for-money purchases and ensure material availability. In the area of new system induction, there is need to establish the material support plan and the Initial spares sizing (range and depth), provisioning and acquisition of spares and related supplies (e.g. support and test equipment, tools etc) in support of the acquired system. 

 

4. Oversee the initialization and sustainability of the Management Information Systems to ensure that all material master data are coded, loaded and configured to meet the supply and maintenance business processes 

 

5.    Drive Safety and Health Operations in enforcing safety standards and procedures in promoting a safe work environment and 

 

6.    Any other duties and or projects that may be assigned by Director/ Deputy Director, Supply Chain Management

Qualifications & Work Experience

 

Qualifications and work experience include:

 

  • At least a Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related fields preferred; or equivalent combination of work experience
  • Familiar with SAP, Maximo, or equivalent Management Information Systems
