3D/2D Graphic Artist (1-Year Contract)

Job Purpose

SMRT Trains Ltd (SMRT) is a public transport service provider. Our primary business is to manage and operate Train services on the North-South Line, the East-West Line, the Circle Line, the new Thomson-East Coast Line, and the Bukit Panjang Light Rail Transit. This is complemented by our bus, taxi, and private hire vehicle services. SMRT is committed to providing safe, reliable, and comfortable service for our commuters.

The 3D/2D Graphic Artist supports the above commitment by contributing to the development of digital media assets for VR simulation, e-learning packages and instructional videos.

The role resides in the Learning Technology Team of SMRT Institute, the main training branch of SMRT. 

Responsibilities

• Develop interactive experiences and solutions for VR & Mobile applications
• Understand the project requirement, turn content narratives into interactive 3D elements for VR simulation / interactive 3D instructional video/content
• Create high quality realistic 3D models and textures including architecture environment, organic objects (characters), props from photo, real-world object, and technical drawings
• Rig and animate characters and objects
• Integrating 3D assets into Unity / Unreal
• Communicate ideas and collaborate effectively with teammates (designers or developers), collaborators, and clients (end-users)
• Follow through the projects from beginning to the end ensuring the highest quality standards
• Creative mindset, brainstorming new ideas on regular basis and strategizing ways to stand out
• Great understanding on optimization 3D model for VR, mobile apps development
• Create 2D still illustration and motion graphics animation
• Performs other video editing duties as needed, post-production skills where necessary
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications & Work Experience

• Degree in Art / Design / Creative Multimedia or related studies.
• Preferably 1 - 2 years of relevant work experience design or multimedia field. Fresh graduates welcome to apply.
• Strong portfolio showing 2D design skills and demonstrating a high level of artistic creativity. 

Skills

Technical skills include:

• Must be proficient in 3D and 2D graphic skills
• Proficiency in 3D development software such as Maya, 3ds Max, Zbrush, Marmoset, Substance Painter, Unity/Unreal
• Proficiency in multimedia software such as Adobe - After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator
• Knowledge on shaders, texturing (PBR maps), and optimization
• Experience with any of the following: VFX , UI/UX, AR, MR 
• Optional: Experience in E-learning software such as vyond, articulate 360 will be added advantage.

Generic skills include:

• Resourceful and able to find solutions when stuck, or unfamiliar with a designing/animation issue
• Self-motivated and agile
• Strong attention to detail and able to do thorough quality checking before showcasing any work
