Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML) Engineer


Job Purpose

We are looking for Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML) engineer to join our rapidly growing data team. You will be joining the team at an early stage of product development and your contributions will influence key design choices for the product. The role will require you to develop packages to work with data for the deep learning models and methods for interacting with upstream data recorders. Your will assist in starting out the MLOps work cycle and work with the business team to adapt and/or build deep learning (DL) models to enhance work processes. Overall, you will strive for excellence by aligning the data systems created with business goals presented.


The duties and responsibilities are listed below. The list is not comprehensive and related duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.

  • Understand the technology landscape of the organization to select and implement a complete end-to-end technology stack that supports the needs of the infrastructure owners, data engineers, and business users
  • Manage and actively develop the organization’s code base for AI/ML
  • Manage the software and hardware implementations for deployed DL models
  • Provide definitions for data from DL models for integration into the organization’s data model

Qualifications & Work Experience

  • Tertiary qualification with experience working in a software or data team
  • At least 2 years of experience working on DL models for use cases such as object detection, behavior recognition and text recognition
  • Hands-on experience working with any frameworks for images, text or audio preferred (e.g. OpenMMLab, OpenCV, Transformers)
  • Experience in working with SDKs to communicate with hardware devices is a plus


Technical skills include:

  • Advanced knowledge of either Tensorflow or PyTorch deep-learning framework
  • Knowledge of how models are deployed for inferencing on edge devices and servers
  • Ability to perform transfer learning to fine-tune models for use cases defined by business users
  • Knowledgeable about DL models and able to combine modularized capabilities to define solutions to solve business user problems
  • Knowledge of a second programming language (e.g. C#/.NET, Java, JavaScript) is highly favorable
