Assistant Engineer, COM OCC 1
Job Purpose
The Assistant Engineer is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance work on Communication systems. He also contributes to KAIZEN workflow improvements to enhance the reliability of the Communication systems, as well as guiding field service teams and ensuring the work quality and safety of external contractors and/or stakeholders.
He is required to perform rotating shift duties at Kim Chuan OCC. He demonstrates team leadership skills, ensures the maintenance work is carried out in a safe and orderly manner, as well as contributing to the team’s performance in achieving established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Responsibilities
- Participate in the maintenance of the Communication systems for North South / East West Line OCC, to ensure that the safety, reliability and availability of the systems meet the standards agreed with the Authority
- Perform complex fault analysis and testing of Communication systems
- Liaise with LTA/SMRT contractors for works carried out in the Communication Equipment Rooms
- Conduct proper housekeeping, always ensure safety and security of Communication Maintenance Offices (CMO) and Communication Equipment Rooms (CER)
- Assist in the managing and controlling of maintenance spares
- Ensure workplace adherence to Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies, procedures and regulations when carrying out work
- Ensure compliance with relevant Codes of Practice, Quality Procedures, Work Instructions, Standing Instructions, OEM manuals, and any relevant change instructions disseminated
- Undertake any other tasks as and when assigned and directed by Supervisors
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Applicants should possess a minimum Diploma in Electronics and Communications / Electronics / Electrical / Computer / Telecommunication Engineering from any recognized institution
- Applicants who are CCNA certified or its equivalent are preferred
- Applicants who has Cybersecurity knowledge are preferred
- Applicants should be able to work independently and in control room environment
- Able to perform 3 rotating shifts
- Ability to identify colours
