Assistant Engineer, EMF

Job Purpose

To supervise the team in performing preventive and corrective maintenance work on Electrical, Mechanical and Fire Protection System. Duties also include proposing workflow 
improvements to improve the reliability of the Electrical, Mechanical and Fire Protection System. Manage his team’s performance in achieving established Key Performance 
Indicators (KPIs) as well as facilitating the work of external contractors. Plans, prioritise and optimise material resources and manpower for scheduled maintenance work and fault. 
Mentor and impart knowledge and skills to junior staff. 

Responsibilities

1. Mechanical and Electrical Systems 
- To perform preventive maintenance work of Electrical, Mechanical and Fire Protection System 
- To perform corrective maintenance work of Electrical, Mechanical and Fire Protection System 
- To assist in conducting fault analysis and troubleshooting of Electrical, Mechanical and Fire Protection System 
- To supervise the execution of Electrical, Mechanical and Fire Protection System preventive maintenance work 
- To supervise the execution of Electrical, Mechanical and Fire Protection System corrective maintenance work 
- To perform complex fault analysis and testing of Electrical, Mechanical and Fire Protection System 


2. Support Maintenance Activities and Operational Requirement 
- To supervise the work of contractors and stakeholders external to the Electrical, Mechanical and Fire Protection System to ensure safety requirements and operating standards are met 
- To ensure proper housekeeping of spare parts, equipment and tools 
- To document inspection and maintenance activities 
- To comply with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies, procedures and regulations when carrying out work 
- To comply with Rapid Transits System (RTS) Codes of Practices
- To track quantities of and support the requisition of maintenance supplies and expendables required at work base 


3. Support continuous improvement activities to enhance service reliability 
- To propose workflow improvements to enhance the reliability and efficiency of Electrical, Mechanical and Fire Protection System 
- To carry out engineering improvement activities to enhance the reliability and efficiency of Electrical, Mechanical and Fire Protection System

 

4. Manage people and team performance - To plan work activities and manpower allocation 
- To perform on-the-job coaching 
- To manage the team's performance in achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIS) 

Qualifications & Work Experience

1. Diploma in Electrical / Electronic Engineering 
2. Experienced and familiar with Fire Protection System will be an advantagE

1. Possess strong mechanical and electrical fundamentals 
2. Able to communicate effectively and good team player 
3. Meticulous in ensuring that maintenance work and activities are performed in a safe and orderly fashion by the team 
4. Possesses an analytical mindset and is able to exhibit leadership skills in the team
