Assistant Engineer, Engineering Performance Support
Job Purpose
The Assistant Engineer (AE) plays a critical role in supporting the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of the Maintenance Management System (MMS). This includes first-level technical support, hardware servicing, coordination with contractors, and system performance monitoring. The AE ensures system reliability and contributes to the continuous improvement of maintenance workflows and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Respond promptly to reported issues. Providing first-level troubleshooting and resolution.
Coordinate with MMS Administrators for escalated technical support when necessary.
Escalate complex problems to relevant internal teams or vendors when required and collaborate with external contractors to plan and execute corrective maintenance.
Perform routine maintenance on Maintenance Management System.
Monitor system performance and faults and maintain MMS software and hardware infrastructure.
Coordinate and support LTA/Contractor’s scheduled project work activities.
May be required to perform work during night hours and over weekends/public holidays.
Assist in system upgrades, testing and implementation of new MMS features
Develop procedures, update and troubleshooting guides for internal use.
Qualifications & Work Experience
Diploma in Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields.
Understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, databases, and integration methods,
Hand-on experience with hardware installation, replacement and configurations.
Understanding of corrective maintenance workflow and contractor management.
Prior work experience in railway industry will be advantageous.
Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and IBM Maximo Asset Management.
Proficiency in written communication and developing procedures.
Knowledge in network architecture, servers, endpoints, and peripheral systems that support maintenance platforms.
Competent in installing, replacing and configuring hardware components such as workstations, controllers, access points and communication devices.
