Assistant Engineer, Power Projects 2
Job Purpose
To perform the role as SPIC/PIC/PM in managing contractors during the Power Asset Renewal project activities on site.
Responsibilities
- To be able to work alone or as a team to supervise contractor works on SMRT’s power system in compliance with relevant procedures for safety, security, and cybersecurity requirements.
- To undertake the role as SPIC/PIC/PM to manage work in station and trackside by contractor.
- To ensure compliance with SMRT Quality objectives as stipulated in the QP/WIs.
- To facilitate work as planned in the project schedules so as project timelines are adhered to.
- To submit timely daily site report on completed work through established digital platforms.
- To ensure work records and documentations are kept current and updated.
- To assist Project Manager in conducting engineering and safety analysis, investigations, and testing.
- To attend regular safety briefing/meeting and be constantly updated on operations/safety/security matters through relevant circulars.
- To always comply and exercise safety and make timely report to Project Manager of any accident, incident, near miss and safety infringement.
- To undertake any other tasks or functions that are incidental or ancillary to the performance of assigned work.
- To perform shift duties.
- To perform the duty as a driver of company vehicle as needed.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- At least 2- 3 years of relevant experience in maintenance, project works and troubleshooting of electrical equipment (eg 22kV AC System and 750V DC System).
- Able to lead by example and communicate effectively and work as a team.
- May be required to work permanent night or continuous stretch of night shifts depending on project requirements.
- Able to work in a hot and humid environment that involve indoor and outdoor.
