Assistant Engineer, R1028
Job Purpose
Assistant Engineer will be responsible for facilitating the Design and Build (D&B) of the replacement of the ceiling system in 14 nos. of North-South & East-West Lines (NSEWL) operational stations. This position will be working closely with the contractors based on the work activities schedule and deliver the project timely and safely.
Responsibilities
Assistant Engineer duties and responsibilities are as listed below. Note that the list is not comprehensive and related duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.
- Facilitate all track access matters for contractors to work on track e.g., apply PTW, Hot Works Permit, liaise with Station Ops and other stakeholders on-site
- Coordinate and facilitate contractors in initial cable tracing when required.
- Coordinate, facilitate and ensure all necessary Power circuit isolation and normalization works are done safely and timely.
- Attend site survey and ensure safety with compliance to SMRT safety procedures at site
- Work with Contractor based on the work activities schedule.
- Monitor and verify daily work progress and QPS attendance
- Site Point-of-Contact (POC) to attend to immediate site concerns
- Support for Defects Inspection and follow up works
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Diploma or 4 years of relevant working experience
Skills
Technical skills include:
- Able to apply PTW, Hot Works Permit, liaise with Station Ops and other stakeholders on-site
- Able to ensure all necessary Power circuit isolation and normalization works
- Able Coordinate and facilitate contractors in initial cable tracing
- Able to support for defects Inspection
- Able to communication effectively within technical contexts
