Assistant Engineer, R160A

Job Purpose
The Assistant Engineer is responsible for supporting project execution works within railway environments, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and coordinating installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders across stations, trackside, and control centres.
Responsibilities
Assistant Engineer duties and responsibilities are as listed below. Note that the list is not exhaustive. Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned to meet organisation needs.
• Apply and manage Permit-to-Work (PTW) and Permit-to-Access.
• PM/PIC for track access.
• Attend site surveys and ensure compliance with SMRT safety procedures.
• Serve as POC for installation works, including trackside cable laying.
• Act as POC for Testing & Commissioning (T&C) works in stations, OCC, and BOCC.
• Serve as POC for decommissioning activities.
• Verify as-built and final drawings at site.
• Support equipment handover to Maintenance.
• RFI inspection by Assisting in defect inspections and follow up on rectification works.
Qualifications & Work Experience
• Diploma in relevant engineering discipline, or NITEC in relevant engineering discipline with > 8 years railway and/or E&M experience.
