Assistant Engineer, R173A & R178A
Job Purpose
The Assistant Engineer will be responsible to execute projects under the renewal project (LTA CAT B project) as SPIC role. Responsible for site supervision of installation, overhaul, modification or replacement of air-conditioning, and mechanical ventilation (ACMV) equipment in accordance with SMRT technical specifications and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
Assistant Engineer duties and responsibilities are as listed below. Note that the list is not comprehensive and related duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.
• Manage project work on site when required. Perform fire alarm isolation, equipment isolation and other isolation works required for site works
• Apply all necessary administrative documents (PTWs, track access, HWCS etc.) required for project work in restricted/critical areas.
• Ensure that the projects carried out on site complies with approved technical specifications and company documentation, company safety regulations and best practices
• Coordinate manpower and contractors to carry out ECS projects on site from start to completion of the project
• Liaise and coordinate with LTA WIC on the LTA projects like A&A works, new station construction, major asset replacement etc.
• Liaise with other SMRT internal department for ECS works.
• Execute and supervise replacement and installation of ECS equipment.
• Raise Purchase Requisition (PR) forms for any items or services required to be procured by the Branch
• Conduct site surveys for in-house ECS projects.
• Coordinate and attend to interfacing works, testing, commissioning, and taking over of new installed ECS equipment
• Generate defect punch-list and ensure its closure by relevant parties before system handover.
• Ensure housekeeping is maintained at work site after work for the day has finished and any damage done to the premises due to the work are made good
• Ensure contractors’ documentation (security screening, CSC pass, PTWs, MS, RA etc) are all valid and up to date. Ensure that the Contractor Supervisor or valid CSC pass holder is competent in managing the safety of the contractor work team
• Ensure contractors booking-in/out and monitor headcount throughout the work
• And any task as per instructed.
• Prepared to work on nights and weekends when project requires.
Qualifications & Work Experience
• Diploma in Building Services Technology, Mechanical / Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering
• At least 5 years of supervisory experience or relevant working experience in operation, repair, and maintenance of ACMV
• Have at least 2 years of project management experience, preferably on ACMV system
Skills
Technical skills include:
• The candidate should possess strong technical knowledge on the ACMV equipment
• Familiar with Railway Operating Environment, regulation, and practices
• Proficient in administration software i.e. Microsoft Office, etc.
