Assistant Engineer, Rolling Stock
Job Purpose
The Assistant Engineer, Rolling Stock, is responsible to lead a team of Technical Officers to perform Preventive / Corrective and Overhaul Maintenance of SMRT Trains, Engineering Trains and Plant Equipment. He is also to lead the team in performing fault attendance, fault diagnosis tests, troubleshooting, repairs and modifications to the Trains and Plant Equipment.
Responsibilities
- Plan team duty rosters in consultation with the Engineering Maintenance Manager.
- Disseminate any instructions and procedures issued by supervisors to the team members.
- Perform all necessary maintenance administration and documentation. (E.g. Record faults reported, raise maintenance work orders, complete work orders in maintenance management system and any other recording system.)
- Plan, supervise and lead a team of Technical Officers to perform Preventive Maintenance on Trains, Engineering Trains or Plant Equipment.
- Plan, supervise and lead a team of Technical Officers to perform Corrective Maintenance on Trains, Engineering Trains or Plant Equipment.
- Plan, supervise and lead a team of Technical Officers to perform modifications on Trains, Engineering Trains or Plant Equipment.
- Perform ground shunter duty, as assigned by supervisors.
- Operate ground support equipment and tools safely in accordance with general handling practices, as assigned by supervisors.
- Drive train or locomotives or Road-Rail-Vehicles within depot sidings, test track and maintenance tracks, as assigned by supervisors.
- Any other ah-hoc duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
- Entry level candidates welcome to apply.
- Work in rotating or fixed shifts (in accordance with MOM guidelines), as assigned by supervisors.
