Assistant Engineer / Senior Assistant Engineer (OCC)
Job Purpose
To perform Preventive Maintenance (PM), Corrective Management (CM) in accordance with quality and safety standards, to achieve Key Performance Index (KPI).
Responsibilities
1. To operate measuring, test equipment, instruments and tools safely and efficiently.
2. To perform tasks in compliance with relevant procedures and instructions contained in Quality Procedures, Work Specifications, Work Instructions and any relevant change instructions disseminated.
3. To comply with and exercise safety at all times in accordance with all Safety Procedures.
4. To be responsible for the safety of self, peers at workplace; off and on trackside throughout working period.
5. To carry-out the role of SPIC duties and responsibilities.
6. To complete the necessary reports for the task at hand.
7. To plan scheduled PM work and perform timely CM.
8. To ensure maintenance work orders are completed promptly.
9. To carry out day-to-day monitoring of equipment performance and follow up where appropriate.
10. To ensure authorized access to Communication and Control Equipment Rooms and Installation.
11. To assist EMM in managing and controlling maintenance spares.
12. To ensure good housekeeping in the workplace.
13. To respond to emergency recall after duty hours or for overtime work.
14. To assist in the co-ordination work done by external parties including LTA, MHA and contractors.
15. To provide guidance and on-the-job training to new staff.
16. To conduct or assist with the systems training of new staff.
17. To cover the duties of another Assistant Engineer in his absence as needed.
18. To carry out any duty as assigned and directed by supervisors.
Educational Requirements
1. Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent
2. Minimum 8 years’ experience as Technical Officer or equivalent in related field, previous Railway System or related qualifications and/or working experience would be advantageous.
