Assistant Engineer

Job Purpose

 

The position is part of the Facilities Maintenance Team located at Woodlands RTS CIQ.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Be the first line of response to all operational issues.
  2. Manage maintenance to building facilities services which include electrical, mechanical and facilities equipment.
  3. Provide supervision and lead all maintenance and system takeover activities.
  4. Ensure all work performed by personnel and contractors are carried out in a safely manner and in accordance with Work Instruction.
  5. Responsible for building/facility services, system operations, maintenance program, conducting preventive and corrective maintenance program.
  6. Troubleshoot operational and maintenance problems for all facilities equipment and building services system.
  7. Conduct regular inspection on existing building equipment and its serviceability status.
  8. Conduct regular preventive maintenance program to building equipment and services.
  9. Liaison with OEM/System Contractor for all building services.
  10. Provide feasible solution and coordinate with owners/users, consultants, vendors/contractors on engineering function requirement.
  11. Liaison with stakeholder(s) on all maintenance program ensuring minimum disruption to their operations.
  12. Supervise and audit on subcontractor for equipment maintenance and rectification.
  13. Assist to source for competitive vendor/supplier to carry out facility maintenance/repair work.
  14. Report all incidents, call-in and major maintenance activities on daily basis.
  15. Maintain and update documentation pertaining to facilities related work orders.
  16. Track system performance and liaise with production and system engineer towards minimal equipment downtime.
  17. Prepare and submit monthly facilities maintenance/repair report.
  18. Provide training to technician/technical officers, and junior staff as necessary.

Qualifications & Work Experience

 

  1. Diploma in Project management, Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Civil Engineering / Building Services / Facilities Management with up to 3 years of relevant working experience or

 

  1. Higher NITEC / NITEC in Project management, Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Civil Engineering / Building Services / Facilities Management and more than 4 years of relevant working experience

  1. Able to lead and supervise a team
  2. Must be self-motivated, resourceful, organized, independent and possess strong interpersonal & communication skills
  3. Able to communicate effectively and good team player
  4. Able to read simple electrical circuitry and engineering drawing.
  5. Able to work independently.
  6. Able to work effectively under pressure.
  7. Able to work in fast paced environment with changing priorities.
  8. Able to work rotational shift
  9. Able to work at night, weekends and/or public holidays
