Assistant Engineer/Technical Officer, Facilities Management (M&E Services)

Job Purpose

 

Assist in the maintenance and operation of M&E systems within IFM for Marine Parade Community Services Limited, supporting the Executive Engineer in planning, execution, and monitoring of maintenance activities. Ensure timely response to breakdowns and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for new installations, replacement, upgrading, maintenance and repair of all facilities.
  • Manage the maintenance team to provide support and provide effective maintenance of the hub facilities.
  • Monitor and control the stock level of equipment parts.
  • Identify root causes of failure and define equipment functions and performance standards.
  • Identify protective devices which are not fail-safe and identify failures, which threaten safety of the environment, affect operations, and entail the direct cost repair.
  • Monthly utility meter reading of electricity, chill water, water supply to shop lot.
  • Minor repairs of work such as painting work, toilet items etc.
  • Respond promptly to facility related issues and requests, troubleshooting and resolving problems in a timely manner.
  • Conduct regular inspections and identify any areas requiring repair or improvement.
  • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities and work orders.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations.
  • Co-ordinate, carry out, setting up and attend to major events / activities.
  • Support the premises Manager in the day-to-day operations of the hub.
  • Knowledge of building systems and equipment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and other mechanical components.
  • Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance of M&E systems.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Coordinate with contractors for scheduled maintenance and repairs.
  • Update maintenance records and assist in preparing reports.
  • Support compliance with safety and statutory requirements.
  • Provide technical support during audits and inspections.
  • Night work may be required based on operational needs.
  •  

Qualifications & Work Experience

 

Higher Nitec or Diploma in Facilities management or equivalent preferred, and preferably with minimum 3 - 5 years of relevant experience. 

Skills

 

  • Self-motivated, always striving to improve or meet a standard of excellence.
  • Able to communicate effectively and work in and as a team.
  • Confident managing contractors and liaising with customers for reporting and administrative work.
  • Proven work experience in maintenance operations, facilities management or similar roles.
  • Good knowledge of Excel (using formulas and creating spreadsheets), Words, Powerpoint and tools related to administration, reporting, and presentation. 
  • Good organizational and time-management abilities
