Category Lead (Projects)

Job Purpose
You will support the Category Manager and Procurement Director in driving performance and excellence
within the department.
Responsibilities
- Optimize the performance and operations of the procurement team through data analysis and building databases and dashboards to monitor key aspects of procurement.
- Establish additional metrics and reporting systems as required to provide data support for procurement decisions, reporting, and strategies.
- Identify process inefficiencies and risk areas; proactively optimize through collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain standardized work instructions and training modules for relevant procurement systems.
- Provide first-line functional support, guidance, and training for users on procurement systems.
- Consolidate procurement system issues and collaborate with the IT team to resolve or improve.
- Support IT on evaluating, testing, and adopting new systems.
- Work with IT to develop, test and deploy RPA solutions to automate procurement workflows; provide support on post deployment issues.
- Work with fellow buyers to set up e-catalogues to reduce sourcing workload.
- Work with e-commerce vendors to develop and integrate A.I. sourcing solutions.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Computing or Procurement related fields.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a procurement or category management role.
Skills
Technical skills include:
- Experience working with Ariba and SAP (MM functionality).
- Experience working with Power BI and Power Automate.
- Any experience with UiPath would be an advantage.
- Advance spread sheet experience and analytical capabilities.
Generic skills include:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Proven ability to conduct training and develop effective presentations.
- Good interpersonal skills with proven ability to work with various stakeholders across different departments and vendors.
