Depot Shift Manager
Job Purpose
- To plan, organize and optimize available resources within Rolling Stock Branch to ensure train availability and equipment performance meet the set targets.
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and supervise the teams in the preventive & corrective maintenance of the Trains
- Review and manage train faults.
- Lead, manage and supervise the teams in troubleshooting.
- Analyze and verify the Preventive Maintenance/Corrective Maintenance works and defects/faults raised.
- Provide technical and engineering support to the section.
- Administration and control of staff within the Preventive Maintenance/Corrective Maintenance Teams.
- Raise incident/accident reports.
- Administration of work carried out by contractor e.g. escort for downloading of logs, etc.
- Assist Section Manager in the management of train faults, incidents and emergencies occurring on mainline.
- Review preventive & corrective maintenance performed by staff on Trains / Locomotives.
- Review and update Work Instruction and reports periodically.
- Manage urgent check and fleet wide activities as when required.
- Assist Section Manager in coordinating work with other sections, e.g. Rail Ops, Signaling, Comms, and RS with regards to mainline train faults.
- Assist Section Manager for the proper maintenance of the Trains / Depot Equipment.
- Responsible for safety of staff under his charge, conducting tool box meeting/audits, dissemination of safety messages and staff work in accordance to safety procedures.
- Leader for productivity improvement, cost reduction and innovations for his team through KAIZEN.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Polytechnic diploma or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Marine/ etc.) or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Preferably 5 year's relevant experience in the railway environment.
