Deputy Manager, Bus Workshop

Responsibilities

To support the Workshop Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the bus maintenance workshop. The role focuses on operational execution, staff supervision, data analysis, and ensuring maintenance standards are met efficiently and effectively.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Support
    • Assist in managing workshop operations to ensure productivity, utilization, and efficiency of Technical Officers.
    • Support the implementation of maintenance schedules and ensure timely completion of tasks
    • Ensure proper use and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment
    • Supervise part replacement activities to ensure compliance with maintenance standards.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting
    • Monitor and report on workshop KPIs, including bus breakdowns and project timelines
    • Assist in preparing operational reports and performance summaries.
  • Data Analysis & Problem Solving
    • Conduct basic engineering and maintenance data analysis to identify trends and recurring issues.
    • Support the development of solutions to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Staff Development
    • Support training and development initiatives to enhance technical competencies.
    • Facilitate communication between Technical Officers and Management.
  • Support in Incident Investigation
    • Assist the Workshop Manager in conducting investigations into engineering or maintenance-related incidents.
    • Gather data, prepare preliminary reports, and support implementation of corrective actions.
    • Promote adherence to safety standards and contribute to a safe working environment.

Qualifications & Work Experience

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Postgraduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, or Mechatronic).
  • Fresh graduates or candidates with limited experience but strong learning attitude will be considered.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn and grow into a leadership role.
  • Basic understanding of maintenance operations, data analysis, and safety practices.
