EV Charging Operation & Maintenance Technician
Job Purpose
This role will be under our joint venture company, ChargEco (Strides-YTL). The EV Charging Operation & Maintenance Technician is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the performance of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations. This includes conducting preventive and corrective maintenance, performing real-time monitoring, and supporting installation and commissioning activities to ensure optimal charger functionality, safety, and uptime.
Responsibilities
1. Operation Monitoring
- Monitor charger performance through remote platforms (e.g., CSMS or Operation Roller Coaster).
- Identify and respond to real-time alarms and faults to minimize downtime.
- Ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency of charging infrastructure.
2. Preventive Maintenance
- Conduct routine inspections and scheduled preventive maintenance for AC and DC chargers.
- Perform component checks (e.g., connectors, cables, isolators) and software updates.
- Follow OEM procedures for calibration, firmware upgrades, and safety checks.
3. Corrective Maintenance
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults including electrical, software, and mechanical issues.
- Replace or repair faulty components and verify system recovery.
- Liaise with OEM technical support for complex issue resolution.
4. Installation & Commissioning Support
- Assist in the setup, configuration, and testing of newly installed EV chargers.
- Conduct commissioning and validation to ensure equipment meets technical specifications.
- Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards during installation.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and fault reports.
- Update maintenance systems and escalate recurring issues for root cause analysis.
- Support reporting for audits, compliance, and performance reviews.
Work Schedule
- Normal working days will include weekends and public holidays.
- Two off-days will be given on weekdays (scheduled on a rotational or fixed basis).
- Candidates must be willing to work on-site during weekends and public holidays as part of regular operations.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Diploma/ITE in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in electrical or EV charger maintenance.
Skills
Technical skills include:
- Basic understanding of EV charging systems, fault diagnostics, and safety protocols.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data logging and reporting.
- Skilled in Microsoft Word for documentation and maintenance records.
- Basic knowledge of email systems, shared drives, and digital forms (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, or Google Workspace).
Soft Skills
- Proactive problem-solver with hands-on technical skills.
- Organized and responsive in high-urgency situations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently or in a team.
Additional Requirements
- Physically fit and able to work in outdoor/site environments.
- Willingness to travel to multiple charger locations across the Singapore
- Valid driving license
