Engineer, Maintenance (System/Hardware)

 

Job Purpose

 

You will be responsible to ensure the operational readiness, performance, and continuous improvement of simulation systems through maintenance, fault resolution, and system upgrades. This will involves cross-functional collaboration, client support, and participation in technical projects and business development activities to enhance simulator integration and effectiveness within the training environment.

Responsibilities

 

  • Maintenance, support and modification of simulators, including computers and peripherals, assigned under your care
  • Fault diagnosis and rectification independently
  • Ensure the availability and operational readiness of the simulators
  • Review simulation systems to design and develop updates to positively impact the performance and accuracy of the simulators
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth integration of the simulators into the training environment
  • Competent and service-oriented contact person for our clientele
  • Participate in projects e.g., providing system hardware design, supporting system development, supporting project equipment procurement activities, providing maintenance plan and obsolescence management strategy, etc.,
  • Support Business development pre-sales activities, marketing events and roadshows
     

Qualifications & Work Experience

 

  • Experience in electrical, electronics, mechanical engineering, and IT; mechatronics preferred
  • Experience in fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of complex systems
  • Familiarity with maintenance of virtual simulators and immersive technologies (AR, VR, MR, XR)
  • Exposure to PLCs, microcontrollers, and IoT systems
  • Willingness to travel on short notice and work overtime or shifts when required

Skills

 

Technical skills include:

 

  • Knowledge of programming languages: C#, C++, C
  • Familiarity with operating systems: Unix/Linux, Windows, Android
  • Understanding of computer networking
  • Experience with system integration and hardware/software troubleshooting

 

Generic skills include:

  • Ability to work independently and under stressful conditions
  • Strong teamwork, initiative, and resilience
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented
  • Good written and spoken English communication skills
