Engineering Maintenance Engineer, CS&M

Job Purpose

 

To assist Section Manager (SM) to plan, organize and manage the CS&M Shop production in meeting the Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) on Trains/Equipment/Component timeline. Providing a safe, reliable, quality, and cost-effective operation in the CS&M Shop as well as to lead a team of Engineers, Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers.

Responsibilities

 

  1. To plan and supervise work carried out by the team.
  2. To assist SM in meeting the key performance indicators set by Division.
  3. To assist SM in planning of work duties.
  4. To assist SM in overseeing the dissemination of instructions and procedures issued to team members.
  5. To assist SM in conducting engineering analysis and investigations on incidents/accidents.
  6. To assist SM in the preparation of Quality Procedures / Risk Assessment / Work Instructions / Work Records.
  7. To assist SM in the periodic review of Quality Procedures / Risk Assessment / Work Instructions / Work Records.
  8. To assist SM with inputs for the budgeting and expenses of cost centre that belongs to the Section.
  9. To assist SM with the management of Tools, Calibration, Support Equipment and Spares procurement.
  10. To assist SM with the administrative duties for staff within the team.
  11. Responsible for the safety of staff under his charge, conducting toolbox briefing/audits, dissemination of safety and admin messages and staff work in accordance to safety procedures.
  12. Exercise safety always; in accordance to established Safety procedures. Responsible for the safety of self and all co-workers, inclusive of contractors.
  13. Execute productivity improvement initiatives, efficiency drives and innovations for his team and the Branch through active interaction with staff and external partners
  14. Able to participate and complete the technical Skills training provided by SMRT and achieve the necessary qualification to perform maintenance work on SMRT Component Service Centre.
  15. Responsible in ensuring workplace order and hygiene.
  16. Able to work on a shift roster system (as required) in accordance with the MOM guidelines and the Collective Agreement.
  17. Undertake any other tasks or functions that are incidental or ancillary to the performance of the works assigned: e.g. attend to emergency mainline incident, as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications & Work Experience

 

Qualifications include:

  • Polytechnic diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Technology / Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution. 

 

Work Experience:

  • Preferably 5 years’ relevant experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical equipment.
