Engineering Maintenance Manager, Integrated facilities management

Job Purpose

The Engineering Maintenance Manager (EMM) will be responsible for leading a group of Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers, who are responsible in maintaining the IFM equipment in the stations, depots and tunnels of SMRT network in compliance with SMRT relevant procedures and safety equipment. The EMM is required to maintain and upkeep the strong safety standards in accordance with The EMM will be responsible for the fault investigation and rectification, manpower allocation for ad-hoc activities and liaison with internal
and external stakeholders.To be required to provide innovative recommendations to support the organisation continuous improvement plans as well as re-prioritise work activities and address maintenance needs. Involved in the engagement and management of external contractors to ensure the achievement of operating standards and quality standards.

Responsibilities

The EMM duties and responsibilities are as listed below.  Note that the list is not comprehensive and related duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.

  • To lead, mentor and support a team of Assistant Engineers (AE) and Technical Officers (TO) to carry out PM, CM and fault attendance in Station / Tunnel / Depot for IFM equipment (Electrical switchboards, fire alarm systems, ACMV systems, escalators, lifts, infrastructure & facilities).
  • Provide technical guidance for fault attendance, troubleshooting and rectification.
  • To ensure accurate planning and execution of PM/ CM works.
  • To complete the work orders on SAP or Maximo for record purposes and plan for any backlog preventive/corrective maintenance works.
  • Conduct thorough fault analysis on IFM equipment, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions. Track service issues and coordinate prompt corrective actions to minimize downtime and ensure service continuity.
  • To be able to perform simple fault history analysis and provide the information to his superiors to take appropriate actions accordingly.
  • To ensure all in-house or outsourced maintenance activities are carried out in line with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and proactively mitigate them.
  • To ensure that the IFM equipment are properly maintained and keep it in state of good and operational condition.
  • To ensure that the AEs and TOs perform their duties and responsibilities safely and efficiently.
  • To provide technical advice, information and instructions to AEs, TOs and other staffs. To ensure all drawings, diagrams, manuals, PM and CM records are kept current and updated.
  • To conduct engineering and safety analysis, investigations, and testing.
  • To oversee works carried out by upgrading contractors/ Land Transport Authority (LTA)/ Developer interface works.
  • To always comply and exercise safety in accordance with SMRT Work Safety Manual To ensure team compliance with our QP/ WI / WR in daily activities.
  • To comply with the Financial Procedures for Purchase Requisitions and Work Services, replacement and condemnation of fixed assets.
  • To undertake any other tasks or functions that are incidental or ancillary to the performance of assigned work.

Qualifications & Work Experience

  • Engineering or equivalent. 
  • Proven experience in the maintenance and management of IFM equipment, with a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and control systems. 
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to guide and motivate staff effectively. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen ability to analyse

  • Able to lead and supervise a team 
  • Able to communicate effectively and good team player Able to work in fast paced environment with changing priorities. 
  • Able to comprehend electrical circuitry and engineering drawing. 
  • Able to troubleshoot and diagnose complicated faults.
  • Able to work effectively work under minimal/no supervision.
  • Able to use Microsoft Office applications, SAP & Maximo for data entry and report compilation.
  • To perform Crisis Support in the event of a service disruption or as a contingency for service disruption.
