Engineering Maintenance Manager, Permanent Way Line Maintenance

 

Job Purpose

To be responsible and ensure that all maintenance and renewal works on railway tracks (including the third rail) and associated track features, within a sector is carried out to the required standards agreed by the company so as to provide a safe, reliable, fast and economic transportation to the public. 

Responsibilities

  • To manage a group of Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers in the day to day running of the team. 
  • To comply and execute tasks in accordance to Work Instructions and Procedures. 
  • To comply and exercise safety at all times in accordance to Safety Procedures. 
  • To prepare, manage and control the finances/budget of the team. 
  • To plan and prepare CM works to be carried out by the team.   6. To plan and execute the training plan for all Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers in the team. 
  • To plan, forecast and purchase materials, tools and equipments needed for maintenance works.  
  • To provide engineering and technical advice, information and instructions to the team. 
  • To prepare reports on the progress of works done. 
  • To be responsible for the welfare and discipline of all Assistant Engineers and Technical Officers in the team. 
  • To conduct staff appraisals and submit reports on the work performance of the staff under his charge. 
  • To liaise with other departments on matters that requires attention. 
  • To respond to emergency activation. 
  • To undertake any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications & Work Experience

  • Have supervisory work experience for at least 5 years, and at least 7 years of working experience in an Engineering/Maintenance environment.  
  • Diploma in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering. 

Skills

  • Good written and verbal communication skills, and possess good analytical abilities. 
  • Able to plan work schedule to cover all required maintenance works. 
  • Able to work independently, and able to lead effectively and be a good team leader. 
  • IT literate (MS Outlook ,Excel, Words). 
  • Able to perform night shift.
