Engineering Maintenance Manager (E&L)

Responsibilities


1)    Responsible for the Escalator & Lift maintenance teams under his/her charge
2)    Manage day-to-day running of railway power systems/equipment or facilities of unit
3)    Take responsibility of preventive and corrective maintenance, modification/upgrade and repair works on trains and depot facilities in compliance to relevant standards
4)    Monitor, review and re-align staff development and provide guidance to new staff on the job
5)    Assess risk of maintenance work and implement mitigations
6)    Approve work procedures, evaluate failures and defects and implement recommended solutions 
7)    Ensure that the system is safe for train operations by implementing an effective & efficient maintenance strategy integrating with Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSEMS).
8)    Prepare annual budget and ensure that expenditures are tracked and monitored so that they are within allocated financial budgets for both Capital & Operating accounts.
9)    Provide technical advice and engineering studies support to the line maintenance activities on improvement works through innovation and leveraging on new technology.
10)    Align staff with company Vision, Mission & Core Values through regular communications & sharing sessions on progress & development of rolled out plans.
11)    Manage the group of maintenance staff to meet the set KPIs and maintain high level of productivity by monitoring & reviewing the followings:
a.    Organization of manpower deployment to match workloads.
b.    Processes review to organize other resources deployment integrating with the Quality Assurance (QA) programme.
c.    Assessment on in-house works as against the option of contract works.
d.    Regular Branch’s meeting.
e.    Regular AEs’ meeting
12)    Train and develop staff to be competent and proficient in their respective areas of work and prepare them for career advancement through IDP programme.
13)    Maintain good industrial relations through creating good rapport and regular dialogue with ground staff and union representatives whilst keeping all channels of communication open.
14)    Implement and maintenance of the Quality Assurance System in accordance with ISO9001:2000
15)    Procurement of maintenance tools and spares & contract evaluation/administration matters
16)    Staff counseling & staff appraisal.
17)    Represent E&L Branch in meetings/presentations involving inter-functional groups & external parties.

Qualifications & Work Experience

  • Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering with 5 years of supervisory/managerial experience in railway operation /maintenance OR 
  • A diploma in electrical/mechanical engineering and 10 years operation and maintenance experience in related industry preferably in the MRT related environment.
  • Experience in maintenance of Escalator and Lift. 
  • Strategic thinker, be self-motivated, resourceful, organized and able to work independently. 
  • Possess strong interpersonal & communication skills.
