Engineering Maintenance Manager
Job Purpose
Manage a Control Maintenance Unit, responsible for performing Maintenance (PM), Corrective Management (CM), Overhaul (OH) and Improvement Maintenance (IM) activities, in accordance with quality and safety standards, to achieve Key Performance Index (KPI).
Responsibilities
- Supervise functions of shift groups ensuring that PM, CM, OH and IM works are executed in accordance to established standard procedures / requirements.
- Lead team of Assistant Engineers in performing tasks in compliance with relevant procedures and instructions contained in Quality Procedures, Work Specifications, Work Instructions and any relevant change instructions disseminated.
- Together with other EMMs and branch leaders, be responsible for the maintenance of Quality Assurance System in accordance with ISO and OHSAS standards.
- Plan for the training and development of staff to be competent and proficient in their respective areas of work and prepare them for career advancement.
- Monitor, review and re-align staff development and provide guidance to new staff on the job.
- Comply with and exercise safety at all times in accordance to all Safety Procedures.
- Responsible for the safety of self, peers at workplace; off and on trackside throughout working period.
- Complete the necessary reports required of Senior Engineer and Branch Manager.
- Ensure plan scheduled PM and CM are performed timely.
- Monitor, review and follow-up where appropriate, on communication and control system and equipment performance under his/her charge.
- Perform periodic risk assessment of communication and control maintenance work and implement mitigations.
- To perform failure trend analysis, evaluate failures and implement mitigations.
- To analyse, troubleshoot and rectify all CTRL systems faults.
- To review and approve Method Of Statement (MOS), Risk Assessment (RA) and Permission To Work (PTW) for access to Communication and Control Equipment Rooms and Installation work.
- Manage and control of maintenance spares.
- Perform staff counselling as necessary and conduct staff appraisal sessions.
- Represent Communication and Control Branch in meetings/presentations involving inter-functional groups & external parties.
- Prepare annual budget and ensure that expenditure are tracked and monitored so that they are within allocated financial budgets for both Capital & Operating accounts.
- Align staff with company Vision, Mission & Core Values through regular communications & sharing sessions on progress & development of rolled out plans.
- To conduct audit check on all maintenance records.
- To conduct periodic supervision of staff work.
- Respond to occasional recall after duty hours or for overtime work.
- Carry out any duty as assigned and directed by the Section Manager or Branch Manager.
- Ensure the updating of drawings, diagrams, manuals and keeping of proper records of jobs done at all times.
- To conduct CTRL systems training to new or existing staffs.
Qualifications & Work Experience
Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering with at least 7 years relevant working experience.
