Executive, Business Development (China - Singapore)
Job Purpose
As the Executive, Business Development (China – Singapore), you report to the Head, Business Development of Stellar and will be responsible for identifying and capitalising on business opportunities in China (mainly Guangzhou and Shenzhen; possibilities in Suzhou and Shanghai), with the goal of expanding operations to Singapore. Your primary focus will be on sectors such as outdoor advertising, transit retail, and transportation. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in coordinating with partners in China to facilitate seamless collaboration with Singapore-based teams.
Responsibilities
1. Market Research and Opportunity Identification
- Conduct market research in China, Malaysia, Taiwan, and other key markets, to identify potential business opportunities aligned with our company’s growth strategy.
- Analyse industry trends, competitive landscapes, and customer needs to pinpoint areas for expansion.
2. Business Expansion Strategy
- Develop a comprehensive business expansion plan for bringing successful Chinese ventures to Singapore, and vice versa (Singapore ventures to China).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align strategies and ensure seamless execution.
3. Partnership Development
- Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including local businesses, government agencies, and industry associations.
- Identify potential partners for joint ventures, collaborations, or investment opportunities.
4. Project Management
- Oversee the implementation of business initiatives, coordinating activities across teams in China and Singapore.
- Monitor project milestones, budgets, and performance metrics.
5. Risk Assessment and Mitigation
- Evaluate potential risks associated with market entry, regulatory compliance, and cultural differences.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies to safeguard successful business transitions.
6. Coordination and Communication
- Serve as the liaison between China and Singapore teams, facilitating effective communication and knowledge sharing.
- Organise regular meetings, workshops, and cross-functional collaborations.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience in business development, preferably with exposure to both China and Singapore markets, as well as cross border business collaborations.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency in Mandarin and English.
