Executive / Senior Engineer, Engineering Governance Branch
Job Purpose
The Executive Engineer / Senior Engineer in the Engineering Governance Branch shall be responsible to support the governance role for the SMRT Engineering Governance Processes including asset modification, changes in maintenance regime and risk acceptance. He/she shall be required to have good understanding of the governance processes and provide support to internal and external stakeholders. This shall include ensuring compliance to the governance processes, review of submissions and coordination of the respective approval forum to ensure appropriate risk identification, evaluation and acceptance for operations activities.
Responsibilities
1. Work in any SMRT Maintenance Depot or facility and comply with all Safety Requirements.
2. Work in rotating or fixed shifts (in accordance with MOM guidelines).
3. Develop in-depth understanding of the governance processes and provide support in form of response to queries and clarifications to internal and external stakeholder from LTA and SMRT.
4. Ensure compliance to the governance process flow for asset modifications, changes in maintenance regime and risk acceptance. This shall include ensuring adequate and accurate submissions from applicants, review of submissions, solicit inputs from respective ops, maintenance, engineering and system management departments.
5. Perform the role of secretarial for the respective engineering governance approval forum and including planning, scheduling, coordination and minutes-taking for forum.
6. Perform documentation follow up and archival to ensure full closure of the engineering governance process.
7. Liaise with LTA to provide status tracking, update and ensure compliance to the requirement of the authority.
8. Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to ensure continuous improvement and improve robustness of the engineering governance process.
9. Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications & Work Experience
Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institution.
Previous Railway System or risk governance experience would be advantageous.
