Executive/Senior Executive - Safety, Security & Quality (Operations NSEWL)

Job Purpose

Reporting to Branch Manager, Safety, Security & Quality Office (SSQO), you will be responsible for SSQ Management, SQ Compliance & driving SQ Culture for NSEWL Division.

 

Responsibilities

 

You are responsible to support NSEWL Division in the following:

 

1.    Safety and Quality Management     

  • Develop and deliver L1 SSQ/SQ work plan.
  • Provide regular SSQ/SQ performance update to Line/Division Heads, Trains SSQ and/or other related management review forums.
  • Oversee the timely review and update SSQ/SQ documents in alignment with Corporate and Trains SSQ Policies and Procedures.
  • Perform as WSH Secretariat for Registered Workplace WSH Committees (as appointed) and member of L1 SSQ/SQ Meeting.

 

2.    Safety & Quality Compliance

  • Oversee, develop and implement the Line/Division Audit and Inspection Plan, work with Line/Division management and associates to implement Self-check Programs. Support L2 to L4 audit and inspection at Line/Division. 
  • Report on SSQ performances and raise concerns/issues to Head of Line/Division based on finding from audits and inspection by L1 to L4. 
  • Manage investigation of WSH and Security incident (including near miss) in the Line/Division, and support L2 and L3 investigations, as required.
  • Ensure legal compliance on health, safety and security requirements are met.
  • Advise Line/Division Head on WSH risk assessments and risk mitigation.
  • Comply with all safety and security (including cybersecurity) requirements and accord safety as priority.  

 

3.    Building a Strong SSQ Culture

  • Promote awareness of SSQ in the Line/Division via the various means, e.g. meetings, staff engagements e.g. Safety protected time, Workplace and other media. 
  • Collaborate with Line/Division training function on SSQ training requirement.
  • Execute SSQ outreach events and initiatives as directed by Line/Division Head.

 

Undertake any other tasks as and when assigned and directed by Division Head/Head of Department/Branch Manager SQO.
 

Qualifications & Work Experience

  • Diploma/ Degree in Engineering/Business from a recognised institution with at least 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience. 
  • Prior Knowledge in Safety Management will be preferred.
     

Skills

  • Good knowledge in Workplace Safety and Health Act. Registered Workplace Safety and Health officer and the Trained Fire Safety Manager is a plus. 
  • Possess positive attitude and good communications skills with ability to work across functional teams.
  • Able to work independently and under pressure of tight timeline, self- motivated, resourceful and organized.
  • Willingness/required to work outside normal office hours and/or shift hours to perform audits.
