Head, Finance
Job Purpose
Reporting directly to the Group Chief Financial Officer, the Head, Finance is responsible to oversee all aspects of the finance function of a joint venture group (8 entities) with annual revenues of over S$150 million. The role has a matrix reporting to the CEO of the joint venture group and is responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, accounting operations, cash flow management, and system improvements. The role is pivotal in ensuring the financial health of the joint venture group and aligning financial strategies with broader business objectives.
Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of Head, Finance, are as listed below. Note that the list is not comprehensive and related duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with IFRS, including preparing financial statements, analysing financial data, and presenting financial performance to senior management or the board of directors. Handle financial reporting and communication to relevant stakeholders.
• Assist in the development of financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts to support the organization’s goals and objectives.
• Implement and monitor internal control procedures to safeguard assets, ensure compliance with regulations and mitigate financial risks.
• Perform comprehensive financial analysis including revenue bid evaluation and product cost assessment to optimize profitability and enhance overall financial performance.
• Manage cash flow, liquidity, and investments to optimize financial resources and meet the organization’s funding needs.
• Assess financial risks and developing strategies to manage and mitigate them effectively, such as currency risk, interest rate risk or credit risk.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies. Coordinate audits and examinations by external parties.
• Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes, provide financial expertise and analysis to support the evaluation and implementation of strategic initiatives, including integration of enterprise systems and work processes.
• Manage quarterly GST filing and preparation of annual tax compliance
Qualifications & Work Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent, in a recognised University/Institution.
• Professional certification with a recognised accounting body preferred e.g. Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant.
• Progressive experience (at least 10 years) in financial reporting, FP&A and operational finance.
• Prior Big 4 public accounting experience, preferably in a managerial capacity
• Proven organizational and time management skills, ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously, ability to set and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong team management and interpersonal skills.
• Strong working knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS), financial concepts and best practices.
• High proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as MS-Excel, MS-Word, MS-Outlook, MS-PowerPoint, MS-Teams, etc.
