Intern, Escalator & Lift

 

Job Purpose

 

Under the IWSP, students will be provided training in engineering fundamentals and have an opportunity to work in Escalator & Lift (E&L), with an exposure to frontline engineering maintenance in Building & Facilities Division.  

 

Responsibilities

 

The roles under the IWSP includes the following responsibilities to support an Executive Engineer and/or Engineering Maintenance Manager and/or Section Manager in one or more of the following [11 months]: 

Technical Support/Plans Branch

  1. Carry out engineering studies, technical trend failure and analysis on related engineering system(s) and equipment.
  2. Assist to plan, coordinate and supervise assigned activities to optimise the utilization of resources available to ensure that activities are completed within schedule.
  3. Assist to update department documents such as Work Instructions, Quality Procedure, Risk Assessment, etc. to ensure that all requirements are met and to enhance productivity.
  4. Learn about Financials relating to OPEX/CAPEX and apply into monthly tracking of department financials.
  5. Undertake Supply Chain/Logistics Management project to enhance the efficiency of Logistics for department.
  6. Undertake any other tasks as and when assigned and directed by supervisor or Head of Department.

Engineering & Projects Branch

  1. To attend training in L&E fundamentals [SMRTi] and site visits to escalator refurbishment project.
  2. To participate and assist in incident investigations, reports and slides compilation.
  3. To assist in drafting WIs for L&E maintenance with input from managers.
  4. To assist in drafting troubleshooting guides to reduce recurring faults.
  5. To participate in discussions on condition monitoring for lifts and escalators.
  6. To undertake any other tasks as and when assigned and directed by supervisor or Head of Department.
     

Qualifications & Work Experience

 

  • Pursuing relevant degree.
