Lead / Automotive Technical Officer

Job Purpose

Responsibilities

•    Perform preventive/corrective maintenance, servicing, and troubleshooting activities on public bus fleet (diesel and electric) to ensure all vehicles operate safely and efficiently.
•    Candidate will be required to perform maintenance work based on either one of two general specialisation groups – mechanical systems maintenance (engine, body works, drivetrain, steering/ suspension, brake subsystems) or electrical systems maintenance (aircon, electrical/ electronic subsystems).
•    Use diagnostic equipment and troubleshooting to identify faults and replacement parts needed for corrective maintenance.
•    Timely submit SAP/Maximo records of maintenance, repairs, and any jobs performed on buses.
•    Support LTA maintenance audits by ensuring bus fleet is in tip-top condition at all times.
•    Comply to company work processes, SOPs, work instructions, and safety measures.
•    Any other ad hoc appointments as assigned by the Workshop Manager, e.g. morning standby technician.

Qualifications & Work Experience

•    Possess Higher NITEC or NITEC in Automotive Technology (Heavy Vehicles) or Motor Vehicle Mechanics or Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics. 
•    Possess other automotive/safety certifications is a plus (NESS, CTS, WAH, first aid, etc.); must be willing to attend courses and attain certifications if sent by the company.
•    Relevant working experience in place of formal qualifications may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
•    Must possess Class 3 driving licence. Class 4 driving licence is a plus; must be willing to drive buses if sent for Class 4 training by the company.
•    At least basic electrical troubleshooting skills, including use of multimeter.
•    At least basic computer literacy.
•    Able to work on weekends and some public holidays depending on duty roster (OT is claimable).
