Manager, Bus Plans

Responsibilities

  1. Support in the development of Buses BU business strategy and plans.

 

  1. Conduct feasibility studies for new commercial ventures/business case, including performing market research, competitors’ analysis and development of a financial model for returns and profitability analysis.

 

  1. Collate bus industry developments for KPIs and competitors’ financial analysis for benchmarking analysis.

 

  1. Participate in local public bus tenders for business growth opportunities. Function as the secretariat committee for cross department coordination efforts and provide content value add for the required documents submission.

 

  1. Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and work plan, and monitor progress against these plans to ensure that SMRT Buses Ltd attains its objectives as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible.

 

  1. Oversee Performance Monitoring & Reporting to regulators, including coordination efforts to obtain the required data from various departments for submission, performing variance analysis and proposing value creation initiatives.

 

  1. Track, monitor, analyse and prepare operational performance updates and reports for the leadership team and higher management at SMRT Corporation level.

 

  1. Liaise with internal teams and regulatory authorities to address contract-related queries and negotiate new contractual terms.

 

  1. Coordinate with other business units in SMRT Corp to fulfill corporate requirements and reporting in the areas of APIP, productivity KPIs, strategic/operations risk management, audit and finance.

Qualifications & Work Experience

  • At least 4 years of experience in corporate strategy, business developing, business planning, consulting, investments or a related role.
  • A degree in Business Management, Accountancy, Finance, Economics, or a similar field is preferred.

Skills

  • Ability to understand and analyse financial statements with basic financial modelling skillsets.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong focus on prioritisation and ownership.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and data interpretation skills.
  • Experience in transport industry is preferred but not required.
