Manager, Education, Promotion & Training
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Branch Manager of Education, Promotion & Training Branch (EPT) within Trains Safety, Security & Quality (SSQ) Division, Manager, Education, Promotion & Training will collaborate and work collectively with both internal and external stakeholders to promote and nurture a strong SSQ culture within the organisation through educational and engagement platforms. This includes facilitating the development and review of SSQ training curriculum, managing open reporting channels with analysis, as well as rolling out campaigns to inculcate right staff behaviour towards safety and security.
Responsibilities
EPT Manager is to fulfill the duties and responsibilities listed below. Note that the list is not exhaustive; related duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.
• Conceptualise, plan and conduct ground engagement events and forums to engage SMRT staff on safety and security related matters, as well as solicit feedback. This includes the annual Trains Safety Forum.
• Measure and determine safety culture of the organisation, using CultureSAFE or other methodologies. This includes oversee survey planning, execution, analysis and management reporting on areas of improvement and monitor tracking of the progress
• Support culture transformation programme for the organisation to promulgate safety mindfulness
• Lead SSQ projects and initiatives with main objective of inculcating safety mindfulness for all Trains staff • Possess a natural ability to conceptualise wireframes, user flows, and prototypes that articulate user journeys and communicate design ideas effectively to support development of communication materials on SSQ – Safety Moments, alerts, circulars, notice boards, videos, banners, digital platforms etc.
• Define and drive the UX/UI design strategy, ensuring alignment with the overall stafety culture goals and user needs
• Develop and execute design thinking strategies, incorporating user research and feedback to drive product improvement and user satisfaction for continuous improvement for Safety related campaign.
• Conduct user research and analysis to understand target SMRT Trains staff needs, preferences, and pain points to address design decisions
• Collaborate with SMRT’s Training Institute to develop and review SSQ training curriculum. This includes conducting and facilitating safety related training. At the same time, experiment and discover other experiential modes of learning towards a more effective training for staff and contractors.
• Manage Safety & Security Division intranet page and Workplace groups to maintain SSQ resources availability to all staff
• Support Branch Head in managing the branch’s operations.
• Mentor and provide guidance for the branch’s Executives
Qualifications & Work Experience
Qualifications and work experience include: • Degree in any discipline, preferably in UX/UI design, Occupational Safety And Health-related or equivalent experience
• Proficiency in English and Mandarin, both spoken and written.
• 5 years of relevant working experience in Promotion & Training role • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in UX/UI design is preferred
• Experience in event organising and management will be advantageous.
• Strong proficiency in design thinking methodologies and user-centered design principles.
Skills
Technical skills include:
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with web design, video editing, Adobe Illustration and Photoshop will be advantageous • Trained in Design Thinking and human-centric problem-solving • Have a strong eye for producing aesthetics that can flex across promoting mediums – traditional (e.g. flyers, posters), digital (social media & EDM) and ensuring the final design is visually appealing through the use of typography, imagery and colours
