Manager, Industrial Relations & Workforce Investigations
Job Purpose
As the Manager, Industrial Relations & Workforce Investigations, you will primarily focus on overseeing investigations into employee misconduct while developing and executing industrial relations strategies. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with labour laws, strengthening union-management relationships, and collaborating with HR Business Partners to effectively address employment-related issues.
Responsibilities
- Conduct workplace misconduct investigations, providing actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with management and HR on performance, grievances, and disciplinary issues.
- Manage stakeholder communications on whistleblowing and grievances.
- Perform compliance checks to uphold company policies.
- Analyze behavioral and disciplinary trends for strategic recommendations.
- Support HR in resolving disputes through mediation.
- Promote a culture of integrity and transparency.
- Communicate with unions on company initiatives and policies.
- Provide expertise on labor legislation and collective agreements.
- Organize training and tripartite activities to enhance labour relations.
- Participate in collective bargaining and annual bonus negotiations.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Degree in any discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in audit, compliance, and/or investigations.
- Experience in handling complex employee investigations and managing stakeholder communications.
Skills
- Strong analytical thinking with excellent judgment and integrity.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in MS Office applications and investigation-related software; relevant certifications (e.g., ACFE) preferred.
- Effective written and oral communication skills, with the ability to handle high-pressure situations.
