Manager, Security (Policy & Plans)

Job Purpose
The Manager, Security (Policy & Plans) is responsible for formulating security policies aligned with legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as providing corporation-level security governance, strategies, and risk management controls while supporting business units in achieving security goals. This position requires collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders and reports to the Director, Security.
Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the Manager, Security (Policy & Plans) include, but are not limited to:
- Developing comprehensive security policies and plans tailored to meet organizational needs and regulatory standards.
- Disseminating relevant security advisories to ensure timely communication of security updates and protocols.
- Organizing and overseeing annual external audits on rail and bus systems to ensure compliance with codes of practice and security standards.
- Providing advisory and support to internal business units on security matters, helping them implement effective security measures.
- Planning and conducting Threat Vulnerability and Risk Assessments (TVRA) on SMRT premises, including assessing evolving threats, and providing inputs for possible mitigating enhancements.
- Performing analysis and assessment of security data to identify areas of threats and vulnerabilities.
- Planning and executing security projects aimed at enhancing overall security infrastructure and capabilities.
- Liaising with external agencies and regulators for coordinating and managing security requirements with relevant authorities, fostering productive relationships to address security concerns effectively.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Degree from a recognized institution: Possess a bachelor's degree in any field, demonstrating a strong academic foundation and analytical skills.
- Have at least 5 years of relevant experience in the field of security and intelligence, with security analyst skills and experience.
- Have a proven track record of leadership and expertise in security policy formulation, risk management, and strategic planning.
- Educational background or working experience in transport security is preferred.
Skills
Technical skills include:
- This role demands a combination of strategic thinking, strong communication skills, and practical security knowledge to ensure the organization's security posture remains robust and compliant with regulatory standards
- Regulatory and Compliance knowledge such as requirements under PLRD, IPA and PDPA
- Security Ops knowledge such as Security-related WSQ certifications, Red Teaming Officer Course (RTOC) and Advanced Tell-Tale Indicator Detection Course (ATDC)
- Proficient with MS Office applications – PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook
