Senior Engineer/Manager, Civil Structure Engineering (E&P), Civil & Structures

 

Job Purpose

 

  • To provide support in civil engineering expertise and solutions for the company. 
  • To work with the team in improvement of engineering repair and replacement method. 
  • To support and provide technical consultation, advise and review on the Qualified Person’s submission for the company in relation to civil and structural engineering matters.
  • To achieve management’s objectives, assigned tasks and directions of the company.

Responsibilities

 

  • To work with the team to assist in exploring suitable materials or repair method to maintain building infrastructure effectively.
  • To provide technical support in civil and structural engineering. 
  • To support in conduct of technical trials and studies. 
  • To assist review of all design submissions, AFM submissions, drawings etc. from consultants/contractors related to civil and structural design matters. 
  • To help in preparing technical justification papers for asset renewal projects for submission to Management/ LTA.
  • To support in review and comment on the Professional Engineer’s Periodic Structures Inspection Report and ensure the report is submitted to Management/LTA/Authorities promptly in the interest of the company.
  • To support in preparation of monthly updates and reports to Management/LTA on Professional Engineer’s Periodic Structures Inspection Report.
  • To support in Infrastructure projects (especially structural interfaces) during design stage.

Qualifications & Work Experience

 

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant
  • At least 3 to 5 years civil/structural design or project management experience.
  • General experience in structural design, project management, project coordination and budget control.

Skills

 

Technical skills include:

  • The latest Structural / civil engineering knowledge and expertise.
  • Good knowledge in latest LTA code of practice (CP1) related to structural maintenance.
  • Understand the structural elements for all infrastructure in the system.

Generic skills include:

  • Resourceful, self-driven and independent.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Team player and ability to work with different stakeholders within SMRT.
