OSIT Engineer, RTSO
Job Purpose
The Engineer supports the Project Manager in the planning, execution, and supervision of the day-to-day OSIT (Off-Site Integration Testing) activities related to rolling stock. This includes coordinating integration with external systems such as signalling and PSDs, overseeing train-level modifications, and ensuring the performance, safety, and reliability of the rolling stock systems. The Engineer will coordinate closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project requirements, timelines, and quality standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Provide supervision during the OSIT Testing and Commissioning phase to ensure all test cases are conducted based on approved procedures and acceptance criteria.
- Supervise the RTSO OSIT Team and manage OSIT interface, integration, and functional testing activities involving rolling stock or signalling subsystems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate technical solutions that align with project needs and system performance requirements.
- Participate in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues encountered during the testing and integration phases.
- Remain current with industry trends and emerging technologies, and recommend process or system improvements to enhance reliability, safety, and performance.
- Ensure all testing activities adhere to relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Coordinate and participate in pre-OSIT activities, including engineering reviews, equipment procurement, and readiness evaluations.
- Oversee OSIT execution, including dynamic testing, software configuration, test case validation, and regression testing.
- Manage risk identification and mitigation, test failure analysis, and issue resolution tracking.
- Supervise and mentor assistant engineers during field testing and system operations.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate test documentation, logs, and reports to support audit and compliance needs.
- Support post-OSIT activities, including test equipment decommissioning, final reporting, and project closure with stakeholders.
Candidates must be willing to work on rotating shift schedule, which may include Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays based on project needs.
Work location will primarily be at Singapore Rail Test Centre (Tuas). Applicants should be comfortable with the assigned location and working environment. May need to travel to Johor Bahru as and when required.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (Electrical or Mechanical) with 3 years of working experience in
Railway industry and RAMS related work. - Diploma in engineering discipline (Electrical or Mechanical) with 5-8 years of working experience in
Railway industry and RAMS related work.
