Ops Specialist
Job Purpose
The Operations Specialist plays a key role in supporting the delivery and administration of training programmes for the Operations Group. This includes vocational qualification, ROP & PIC/PM, refresher training, and other operational support functions to ensure staff competency and compliance with regulatory obligations.
Responsibilities
- Operations Training Support
Assist the Executive in the planning and execution (including training) of the Vocational Qualification Programme (VQP).
Conduct Rail Operating Procedure & Person-In-Charge/Possession Master (PIC/PM) training.
Assist in other Ops Training under the SSO VQP program
Coordinate training logistics, materials, and scheduling to ensure smooth delivery.
Provide on-site support during training sessions and assessments.
2. Refresher Training & Compliance
Work closely with the Ops Support Training team, SSO management and PDO to ensure compliance with STEL Commuter Obligations (CO).
Monitor refresher training schedules and attendance.
Support the implementation of continuous learning initiatives.
3. Training Administration
Maintain accurate training records and competency tracking for Operations staff.
Support the development and facilitation of training content and materials.
Ensure timely documentation and reporting of training outcomes.
4. General Operations Support
Perform other duties and functions as assigned to support the broader Operations team.
Assist in operational planning, coordination, and execution of special projects or initiatives.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Diploma or equivalent in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
- Prior experience in training coordination or operations support is preferred.
- Diploma in Engineering or at least 5 to 8 years in railway operations.
Skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and training management systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Technical skills include:
• Railway-related knowledge

Computer Skills: Microsoft Words, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and Power BI (added advantage)
