Principal Engineer/Project Manager, Systems Project (Signalling & PSD)
Job Purpose
- To liaise, coordinate and working with Land Transport Authority (LTA) project team & Contractors on design review, installation, and testing & commissioning and migration works of TEL Signalling (SIG) System comprising: Automatic Trains Supervision (ATS) System; Computer-Based Interlocking (CBI); CBTC Zone Controllers; Automatic Train Control (ATC) System; Data Communication System (DCS); signalling station/platform/trackside systems/equipment; CBTC external interfaces (e.g. STIS, TRS, PAS, ISCS, ETTS etc) & Platform Screen Door (PSD) System.
- To lead and facilitate smooth systems handover and transition for the Operation & Maintenance (O&M) readiness of TEL SIG & PSD Systems covering various aspects, but not limited to, Training, Test & Commissioning, Integrated SAT, Train Test Runs (TTR), Migration Testing, Trial Runs & Revenue Services.
Responsibilities
• Provide and facilitate O&M inputs in design review, installation, and testing & commissioning phases of TEL Signalling and PSD System from various STEL O&M stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with committed obligations under LTA Contract T200.
• Provide technical support to internal department like Rail Ops, IOE, Procurement and Supply, Maintenance etc and to ensure all inputs are properly conveyed to LTA in a timely manner.
• Facilitate proper handover and takeover (HOTO) of TEL Signalling & PSD for Trial Run & Revenue Service.
• Facilitate Punchlist Inspections & Punchlist clearance.
• Facilitate Fault & Defects Reporting and clearance/closeout during DLP/Warranty period.
• Facilitate in signalling assets transfer of care, custody and control (TCCC) from LTA Project Team/Signalling Contractor to SMRT TEL (STEL) O&M stakeholders.
• Facilitate preparatory works & support for O&M readiness of TEL Signalling & PSD for Training, Trial Run & & Revenue Service
• Ensure project documents, training and O&M manuals, and As-built drawings. etc are updated and handover to SMRT TEL (STEL) Maintenance Team.
• Carry out other works/task assignments as assigned by Senior Manager or Senior Principal Engineer, Systems Project (SIG&PSD) or Project Lead (Systems).
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Candidate should possess a minimum Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Wireless Communication, Computer Networking, Computer Engineering, Control Systems Engineering or related discipline.
- At least minimum of 4-5 years of working experience in maintenance or project/engineering in a railway/MRT operating environment and/or project works for signalling asset renewals or asset upgrading or asset refurbishment works will be added advantage.
Skills and Competencies
- Candidate with previous Railway Communication and Control Systems will have an added advantage
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential with both internal and external parties
- Able to work in a team or independently
- Strong safety-orientated mindset
