Section Manager
Job Purpose
To professionally manage the operation and maintenance of power supply system, ensuring 22KV, 750V, 415V, UPS, EPS, battery charger, trackside equipment, depot equipment and associated system and are safe, reliable and available to support Division’s and Company’s KPI.
Responsibilities
- To ensure the reliability of the power system by implementing an effective and efficient maintenance strategy
- To provide technical advice and engineering studies support to the line maintenance activities on improvement works through innovation and leveraging on new technology
- To align the staff with the company’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values through consistent communication and regular sharing sessions on the progress and development of rollout plans
- To lead the staffs and Engineering Maintenance Manager (EMM) to meet KPIs and sustain high productivity by:
- Aligning manpower deployment with workload demands
- Ensuring timely completion of maintenance tasks according to work instruction and quality procedures (QP)
- Reviewing processes and resource regularly
- Attend and analyse faults in the network and ensure that corrective maintenance is targeted at the root cause
- Evaluating in-housework and outsourcing contractor work
- Holding regular branch meetings
- Coordinating with external parties and authorities on power-related matters and audits
- To train and develop staff to be competent and proficient in their respective areas of work and prepare them for career advancement through Individual Development Program
- To attain Certificate of Authorisation (COA) and ensure staffs to attain COA to perform authorised switching based on internal Quality QP
- To prepare the annual budget and ensure that expenditures are tracked and monitored so that they are within allocated financial budgets for both Capital & Operating accounts
- To develop a cyclical replacement plan or overhaul plan of the power equipment according to OEM recommendations
- To empower the teams to perform Kaizen projects
- To handle staff matters, provide counselling, and conduct staff appraisals as needed
Qualifications & Work Experience
At least 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience in railway operation or maintenance.
A valid licence as Electrical PE and LEW will be an advantage.
With self-motivation, always striving to improve or meet a standard of excellence.

Able to communicate effectively and work in and as a team.
