Senior / Executive, Budget Management

Job Purpose
The Budget Management Senior / Executive shall execute financial prudency for SMRT Trains’ budget.
The Budget Management team serves to:
a. Provide and manage budget expenditure for the Cost Centres in the RMG to ensure compliance and good governance.
b. Monitor and make comparison the expenditures for the Cost Centres in RMG and report any runaway costs including its justifications.
c. Provide and submit budget projection during the budgeting cycle.
Responsibilities
The Budget Management Senior / Executive reports to the Budget Management Section Manager (NSEWL / CCL / BPLRT). His/her roles and responsibilities include the following areas:
a. Budget Projection and Preparation. Assist in the development of budget projection of the Lines.
b. Compliance to SMRT Trains Policies and Procedures. Ensure budget expenditure is executed in compliance to the SMRT Trains’ Policies and Procedures.
c. Budget Expenditure. Ensure that the expenditure is within budget and any variance to be analyses and reported.
d. Tracking Identifications and Assignments. Assignment and verification of tracking IDs.
e. Any Other Tasks Assigned.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Degree in Science, Engineering, Accounting, or related fields, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Familiar with accounting terms as such as OPEX & CAPEX categorisations
- Strong communication and presentation skills, able to effectively collaborate with multiple stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
- Familiar with budget management systems such as SAP/Anaplan/Ariba.
- Must be a team player and self-initiated.
- Able to work under broad supervision.

- Experience in budget management systems (ie. SAP/Anaplan/Ariba)
- Keen to learn new knowledge
