Senior Manager, Collaboration


Job Purpose

The Senior Manager, Collaboration, will be the primary point of business contact for all external collaboration projects on behalf of SMRT Trains and Engineering, as the SMRT Secretariat where required. Working closely with internal technical stakeholders (Project Sponsors), he will monitor these collaboration activities to ensure timely completion by the internal and external project leads and seek the necessary resources at the aggregated level. He will constantly perform technology scanning for relevant enablers that can potentially increase the reliability and productivity of our internal clients’ deliverables.   


  • Chart out the long-term technology development resources, masterplan and formulate strategies to achieve the desired outcomes.
  • Identify potential areas for technology collaboration with external stakeholders to enhance and/or expand current businesses through innovative use of technological solutions.
  • Establish network with institutions, universities, innovation centers, industries, etc. to ensure information flow of novel technologies and drive collaborations.
  • Promote synergies in technology development efforts across the SMRT Business Units, ranging from enhancing operational/engineering capabilities to investing in new areas of growth or inventions, e.g., generating intellectual property to enhance the organisation’s competitive edge.
  • Conceptualising and implement initiatives to build technology capabilities across SMRT Business Units.

Qualifications & Work Experience

  • Degree in Engineering or related fields. Post graduate engineering degree or chartered/professional engineer will be an advantage.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in operations/maintenance/project management.
  • At least 3 years direct involvement with developmental projects with external partners.

  • Proactive and independent, deals well with ambiguity, and able to work successfully with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, meticulous and resourceful
  • Agility to embrace and drive initiatives
