Senior/ Manager, Power Plans

Job Purpose

The Plans function in POW CoE supports Maintenance and Projects teams by managing the CoE’s resources, in the areas of budget planning & control, contracts management, assets management and HR management. Reporting to BM/CE POW Plans & Projects A&A, the Manager (Resources Management) oversees and ensures the smooth running of these functions to support frontline activities.

The Manager (Resources Management) also manages energy usage in Trains BU and performs the role of Energy Manager for SMRT Trains to ensure effective energy management in the organization required under the Energy Conservation Act.

Responsibilities

Resources Management

1. Prepare annual budget for line maintenance and ensure that expenditures are tracked, monitored and within allocated financial budgets for both Capital & Operating accounts
2. Plan or/and conceive Master Replacement Plans to systematically renew and upgrade the equipment operated by Power CoE and prepare project justifications papers to be submitted to the authority for funding requests and follow through with the project implementation

Energy Management

1. Achieve effective and efficient energy management in the organization through monitoring electricity consumption in day-to-day operation to ensure prudent use of energy
2. Perform both routine and contingent load adjustments on the ground
3. Provide trending and analysis of electricity consumption according to requirements and benchmark organization’s electricity consumption against others
4. Perform electricity consumption forecast with high accuracy for various purposes such as electricity procurement, budgeting and financial reviews
5. Participate and contribute to the procurement of electricity and the negotiation of supply contracts

Qualifications & Work Experience

1. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent university level degree
2. Preferably certified in Singapore Certified Energy Manager
