Senior Manager, Safety Policy & Audit

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Head Safety Policy & Audit, the Senior Manager Safety Policy & Audit will review and maintain the Safety Governance for the organization, oversee the efforts to review and translate Workplace Safety, Fire Safety, Environment Protection and Transit Safety Statutory requirements into Corporate Policies, Procedures and Management System Manuals while ensuring they are regularly reviewed and updated, relevant and communicated. In addition, the incumbent will also be responsible for executing risk-based process, audits and reviews relating to safety and key risks areas identified by the Group and Business Units. This role will work closely with the Business Unit’s Safety, Security & Quality Offices, and ISO 45001 Management Representatives.

 

Responsibilities

The Senior Manager Safety Policy & Audit is to fulfill the duties and responsibilities listed below.  Note that the list is not exhaustive; related duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.

 

  • Oversee the efforts to review and translate Workplace Safety, Fire Safety, Environment Protection and Transit Safety Statutory requirements into Corporate Policies, Procedures and Management System Manuals; while ensuring it is current, maintained and communicated.
  • Adviser to Business Units on Environment, Occupational Health, and Safety matters.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Safety governance framework and structure for the Organisation.
  • Review and maintain Corporate EHS legal register.
  • Facilitate (including contract management) and coordinate with business units on Organisation’s ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and BizSAFE accreditations.
  • Perform risk-based and comprehensive audits in domain of safety, make recommendations, and provide adequate advice for corrective actions to ensure compliance.

Qualifications & Work Experience

  • Possess a Degree in Engineering  
  • At least 8 years of work experience related to WSH
  • At least 5 years of managerial work experience in WSH role
  • Work experience in facility/process maintenance is preferred
  • WSQ Specialist Diploma in WSH (Level C) & MOM-Registered WSH Officer
  • WSQ Graduate Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level D) is preferred
  • Certification as Fire Safety Manager is preferred
  • Certification as Safety Assessor for Confined Space is preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of the Singapore WSH, Environmental Protection and Fire Safety legislations, Codes of Practice and Singapore Standards
  • Good knowledge in ergonomics and human factors
  • Good leadership to influence and motivate team members
  • Good communication and strong analytical skills
  • Resourceful and good problem-solving skills

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
